By the sea shore…

I wrote this poem back on 21/11/2014 as a 22-year-old guy who was in the last year of under graduate college. The young guy was wondering and asking himself as to what next? where have you reached? and where are you heading? These are some of the things I questioned the 22-year-old me. Since then not much time has lapsed, but when I look back, the ship of life seems to have sailed far ahead. In this journey, some days are sunny, some stormy, some windy, some calm and quiet. I realised that as we go ahead, the vision gets clearer and clearer and things do somehow seem to workout and fall in to place. What’s important is to keep the ship sailing and keep moving forward.

The poem is about people who wander but are not lost, it’s just a matter of time that they find themselves and realize what life is all about. You, me and everyone, we all are seeking something in life and in that process, we are all some what a bit lost, aren’t we? We don’t know the answer to every question, do we? We don’t know the solution to every problem, do we? But what we do or rather what we should do is to find, discover or create our own ways and means to deal with what life has ahead in store for us. Every other day, a new day, gives us the optimism and hope to give ourselves another shot to try, commit error or to correct it. If you are a fellow wanderer, just breath, keep calm and give your best energy and effort to find what you seek and the “…lights will guide you home 🎶 (a lyrical line from a nice song by Coldplay- ‘Fix You’. After you read the poem, first let me know how it is? then put on the headphones and listen to the song below 🙂

By the sea shore…

-Raunak Bajaj

By the sea shore
I spend the night
The sky is starry
And moon is bright

I wandered whole day
Aimlessly, looking around
Like a ship set for a sail
But didn’t know where it’s bound

I seek for a lighthouse
Or a pole star to guide
It’s going where the winds take
It’s a stormy night

I look at the horizon
While the morning sun arose far away
The sea is calm, and the winds
Have brought the ship to a bay

By the sea shore
It’s a new day
I set for a new sail
To find another bay…

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king”

― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
